Grit Kupgan received his BS and MS in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University. He later completed his PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of Florida under Prof. Coray Colina. During his PhD, Grit focused on the atomistic simulation of amorphous microporous polymers (e.g., hypercrosslinked polymers, polymers of intrinsic microporosity) for gas separation and storage applications.
He recently joined Prof. Jean-Luc Brédas group in October 2018 as a postdoctoral fellow. His primary research is the large-scale simulation of organic thin films for organic electronic applications such as solar cells and light emitting diodes.
